thru the Andes
morning rain
I plead for her attention;
she teases with sweet glances
leaves me in a breathless haze
insisting I get to know her
we wander chambered memories;
a proud and painful, checkered past
I struggle to appreciate
at last, I’ve earned her trust!
as she unwraps her misty robe,
I marvel at magnificence
and praise her for the privilege
